Imagine if every thousand steps your child takes could make life a little better for another child somewhere in the world.
When global crises unfold, children are always the most vulnerable. Conflict and displacement strip away safety, routines and the chance to simply be a child and play. That is why Xplora has partnered with UNICEF Norway. Together we want to empower children to support other children, just by staying active.
UNICEF is the United Nations Children’s Fund and operates in more than 190 countries and territories. This means that children´s everyday activity becomes part of a global effort to support those who need it most.
Activity with real impact
Xplora was founded on a simple idea: technology should encourage children to move, play and explore. Our products motivate children to be active in their everyday lives. Through our collaboration with UNICEF Norway, that activity now carries an added purpose, supporting children who are living through crisis.
Each month, new adventures are released on Xplora´s activity platform Goplay, where children unlock new chapters of the story as they move. In March and August, the adventures are created in collaboration with UNICEF Norway. The first adventure, titled The Rescue Operation, teaches children about UNICEF´s work focusing on themes like hope, action and practical solutions, explained in a way children can understand.
Children helping children
For every thousand steps a child takes, they earn an Xplora Coin. These coins can be used to unlock content and join auctions within Goplay. A solution enabling direct donations to UNICEF is also being developed.
In March, the contributions will go to refugee children and help provide items such as a fleece blanket, soap, a skipping rope and a ball. These simple items can bring warmth, comfort and an opportunity to play amid uncertainty.
As the new school year approaches in August, the coins can help fill a backpack with essentials such as pencils, erasers and books. For a child living in conflict, school can be an important break from hardship, and a significant step towards a better future.
In this way, every thousand steps become a small act of kindness. When children realise they can make a difference through their own daily activity, it sparks motivation, empathy and learning.

When children across all Xplora´s regions support children living in difficult circumstances, it fosters understanding and a sense of global community.
