A parents excellent remarks on growing up

A parents excellent remarks on growing up

Bill’s now six. I can’t believe I have a six year old now. It feels foreign on the tongue still. That’s still so little. But it also feels like the beginning of the next chapter. Newborn to five years-old still felt ‘very small’ to me. But six is part of that journey to ten. And that scares me!

I see kids walk to school without parents, or play out on the quiet roads near our house. And I can’t ever imagine being ready for that! But it’ll happen sooner than I think. We were asked if we’d like to try the @myxplorauk Xplora Watch recently. And Bill is in the middle of learning to tell the time. So I was quite happy to get him a little watch to try. But then I realised what it did. It’s basically your child’s first phone too. Disguised as a watch. Not only can he check the time. But he can text me, call me, and also use an SOS button, if, God-forbid, he was in trouble or needed me. I really value his privacy, but as he grows and I learn to lengthen, and one day maybe even cut, those apron strings, there’s also the ability to track your child with the Xplora app, using GPS. And, if you coparent, like I do, you’ll also appreciate that I finally have a way to talk to my baby when he’s with his dad. And that’s – that’s a life-line for me. You can find a few more details in my Stories and a link to find out more too. I hope you enjoyed this post – I thought it was a great idea for younger kids and I thought it might be useful.
